New flights to Fez is a good omen
Owners of rental accommodation in Fez could be set to benefit from the launch of new flights from the UK, an expert has stated.
Sharron Livingston, editor of thetravelmagazine.net has said that the “easy access” provided by Atlas Blue’s new Gatwick to Fez route represents a “good omen” for the city and Morocco in general. The airline has outlined its intention to expand at Gatwick Airport following the introduction of twice-weekly flights from the London airport to Fez in January 2009. As a result of the new flights, tourists and property investors will benefit from more frequent and affordable access to popular Moroccan tourist destinations.
Fez is the capital of Morocco for all together more than 400 years and home of the oldest university of the country and the leading cultural and religious centre. Fez is also the home of the oldest and largest medieval city in the world, is beginning to emerge from the shadow of its more well-known counterparts such as Marrakesh and Casablanca. Fez is still far away from being depleted of originality and authenticity.
The boom in tourism and launch of new flights is likely to be a positive development for owners of property in these regions as it suggests that demand for rental accommodation will increase. As a result, investors should be able to enjoy higher occupancy rates and higher rental yields.
