Morocco attracts budget tourists
Property investors in Morocco could be set to benefit from an increase in the number of tourists visiting the country, according to a property expert.
Jane Folliott of Orion Trek Voyages said that it possible to travel “reasonably cheaply” in Morocco. she suggested that people take exchange rates into account when booking a holiday and it could spell good news for Morocco’s tourism industry, as it is one of the most affordable tourist destinations. In a recent interview, Mohamed Boussaid, the Moroccan tourism minister said that morocco Morocco attracted a total of 7.4 million international tourists last year which is a 14% rise in visitor levels when compared to 2006.
Richard Cope, senior travel analyst at Mintel, told the Guardian that Current exchange rates in Europe are putting many holidaymakers off traveling within the eurozone. Therefore, many are heading further afield and take advantage of more favorable rates in Morocco.The tourism minister further said that an increased number of foreign property investors considering Morocco as a good place in which to invest, as a growing tourist trade will lead to greater demand for rental accommodation.
In related news, approximately £7.3 million is being spent on creating new leisure facilities and tourist accommodation in Errachidia, Ouarzazate and Zagora, according to Magharebia.com.
