Morocco airlines receives top honour by IATA
The news provider Panapress has reported that Atlas Blue, a subsidiary of Royal Air Maroc, was awarded a certificate by the International Air Transport Association. This was awarded in appreciation of the low-cost carrier’s high safety standards and the superiority of its overall operations.
Royal Air Maroc presently runs services to 70 destinations across the world. Moroccan aviation sector which is currently benefiting from a growing tourism sector received a well-needed feel good factor and further impetus with this certification.
The implementation of the Open Skies policy between Morocco and the European Union in 2006 further boosted the objectives of the Vision 2010 by lowering airfares and attracting new categories of tourists and European low-cost carriers. Official data by Reuters reflected the increase in visitor numbers and revealed that the income from the holiday industry increased to a whopping £3.8 billion in 2007.This is 12 per cent more than during the previous year.
Morocco’s government recently announced that tourism went up by 13 per cent in 2007. These figures suggest that investors in Morocco will profit from both strong rental demand and growth in the housing market. Overseas investors are more inclined to make a purchase in Morocco as the tourism sector receives a substantial boost.
