Moroccan capital hailed as a property hotspot

Overseas property buyers have been encouraged to consider purchasing a residence in the capital city of Morocco.

The city Rabat was praised at the WaterfrontExpo conference in Liverpool, property experts described it as an “incredibly attractive” city in which to invest. Peter Sheard, senior associate at architecture and design consultancy Gensler, described Rabat as an incredibly attractive city, with a perfect climate and everything investors could want commercially and culturally.

He suggested that the city has plenty to offer visitors and property investors; People who are entering the market for the first time could be able to buy a home at a relatively low price. Property experts claim that Brits love the year-round sunshine, easy-going lifestyle and low cost of living in Morocco, adding that many other “emerging destination” do not have same family culture that the country offers.

Mr. Boussaid, Morocco’s tourism minister said he expected European travelers to choose locations closer to home due to their budgetary constraints and Morocco is still well within their reach. Figures from Morocco’s tourism ministry reveal that six per cent more tourists visited the country till October this year than they did in 2007.

This is a welcome development for investors in these areas, as the considerable number of extra visitors boosts property investment and demand for rental accommodation will increase and generate higher returns for property owners.
